Conflicting styles

The earlier drawing looks more finished and complete than the later drawing. The later drawing is "sketchy" and is a different style. It even detracts from the earlier drawing.

At a minimum, erase the lines around the eyes, and put in color to the same level.

You see, the different styles is a good thing...it means that I'm progressing as an artist, instead of stagnating and doing the same exact thing as everyone else. I believe that anime-style drawing is just a stepping stone which should be surpassed if you want to be a truly awesome artist later on.

Many things are improved in the newer version, which I neglected in the 2006 drawing: the hands are more developed, the torso is more defined and less blocky, and the overall facial structure and pose have been improved upon.

Oh, and just because the 2011 sketch - which is what it is meant to be...sometimes, it's ALRIGHT to have sketch lines to show the work you put into a piece - is not colored in, it does not mean that it is unfinished or that it detracts from the overall feel of the piece. I have found that color actually can mess up the quality of the lineart itself.

However, I'll respect your opinion, no matter how much I disagree with it.

Nicely done. The style of the lower left corner clashes a little bit with the rest of the character and the painting, IMHO.

Thank ya! Kept the edges of the piece simpler so that there's more focus on Bonnie's upper half. Might that be it?

And the image on the flag is her insignia. Supposed to be simple with starkly defined edges.

Nice stylistic drawing

I like how you can copy the style of another cartoon and yet have your own creation. Nicely done. Yes, perhaps the water could be improved... but that's minor.

Honest but fair...

The face is cute, but you do need to work on basic anatomy proportions (the legs are way too long). The legs should be about as long as the torso and head combined. And the head should be about 1/8 of the height of the body.
The background isn't yours, but it DID go well with your picture. Keep up the good work, try drawing your own.
My rating isn't to knock you down, but to let you know you have the ability to improve.

It is nice, but, as you say, "quick" -- the color doesn't stay within the lines of the beak, for example. (It's another story for the feathers, which are naturally fuzzy not something one is going to draw each and every one of anyway.)
But it is realistic, and I like it.

the color around the beak is actually a yellow highlight all around the bird but you cant really tell cause my scanner doesn't work to great. but yeah you're right about the feathers

Good, has room for potential

The thumbnail focused on the best part of the drawing -- the girl's face. The drawing is unnecessarily busy. When I clicked on the drawing I was expecting a nice beautiful woman but was greeted instead with graffiti-like titles and a monster-- the girl was neglected, and the details of the ugly surfer are gone to an extreme. Sex sells; it's been in art for thousands of years. I think you CAN draw -- it's just a matter of layout, simplicity, artistic maturity, etc. Keep drawing, IMHO.

i don't usually get on the defensive and use the 'its meant to be bad' excuse but this is a b-movie poster - not exactly the most high-brow or 'mature' of media. it also seems like you're judging the pic on what you expected, not what you got
